I'd like to thank KTVU FOX 2 for their Candidate Access 2010 program under their Cox Television Election Coverage Initiative. Under this program I and other candidates were given up to five minutes to present our statements on important issues which will be aired at a later date (which I'll let you know when I know) on both KTVU FOX 2 and KICU TV36. Also, a link will be added to give direct access to my 4:10 of fame.
Of course, there is always a problem with short hurried statements within a limited time constraint. It also doesn't help that I am new to the whole television "time" experience. So, my initial rehearsal run ran over five minutes and even my final (we were given 20 minutes of studio time) run ended up with little information on why I stood behind the few main issues I was able to get out there. We'll see how it comes across as I haven't seen the final version yet.
The one thing that was excruciatingly obvious is that my lack of experience in the medium will need to be addressed if I decide to further my involvement in politics. I doubt that I'll ever become a "talking head" in television or video, but I will need to deal with the time constraints and sound/video bite environment in a more comprehensive way.
So, if you found yourself here via my video bite on either KTVU FOX 2 or KICU TV36 I hope you will take time to explore my candidate website for my stands on issues affecting Americans today and find some insight to why I come to believe these are the correct directions to provide a freer and more prosperous United States and world. Any issues which I have overlooked or which you care to comment on will be responded to as quickly as possible, so please don't hesitate to send a message via comment or email (office@paullazaga.org).
In the future I am planning to add my own videos to present more in depth information and analysis both to round out some of the information presented in the KTVU FOX 2 andKICU TV36 video and to cover other issues I feel are important. If nothing else it should help provide me some practice and honing of my television/video presence.
Again, I would like to thank the gracious staff at KTVU FOX 2 and KICU TV36 for the opportunity to talk briefly about a few important issues. You were truly professional and while I will probably never be at ease your friendly and knowing attitude were truly helpful.
